The internet in the late 90s and early 2000s was kind of like Eddie Izzard’s skit about taking over the world with the cunning use of flags. Videos somehow circulated with no youtube, no google, no way to find out who made them except for what website you saw it on first. If a site planted their flag, they claimed credit.
Now it takes 3 seconds in a google search to find out who I owe my gratitude to for the below bits of genius. Fensler Films. Yeah I know, it says so at the end of each video, but you make a time machine, go back to 2003 and see first hand how hard it was to find information using Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, or Excite as your search engine.
The most well known one is first, plus more after the jump. Not a complete list, mind you, just a sampling.
