The Kids in the Hall was one of the first sketch comedy shows I remember seeing that could only be described as, “What the hell?”
Falling somewhere between Saturday Night Live and Monty Python’s Flying Circus, their comedy was intelligent and funny, but bizarre and unusual enough that at least once an episode I’d find myself shaking my head and laughing at the same time, all the while thinking, “I get it but I don’t get it!”
Sure, other shows have walked that line with varied levels of success, but The Kids in the Hall seemed to find just the right mix of humor and confusion that made every skit of theirs memorable in its own way.
Yet none were quite as memorable, or hilarious, as Mr. Tyzik, aka The Head Crusher.
Every time The Head Crusher appeared on screen, the show’s audience would go nuts. It was a guaranteed 3-5 minutes of unstoppable laughter, an unplaceable accent, and flat heads.
Below is what could be considered one of the best Head Crusher sketches ever. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat. If you have seen it before, it’s worth watching again, isn’t it?
By the way, the whole time you were watching this, I was crushing your head.
