Pokemon Go is still going strong, and to make sure it stays that way Niantic just added 80 new generation 2 Pokemon. Among them are two new Eeveelutions: Espeon and Umbreon.
If you remember, previously in Pokemon Go it was as easy as switching an Eevee’s name to guarantee you got what you wanted when evolving it.
Sparky > Jolteon
Rainer > Vaporeon
Pyro > Flareon
With the new update, the same trick applies.
Tamao > Umbreon
Sakura > Espeon
A quick tip: To ensure you get the Eeveelution you want, don’t just rename your Eevee and evolve it right away. I’ve done this several times and had about a 30% success rate.
To be safe, first rename all Eevees you’ll be evolving, then close out of Pokemon Go. When you reopen Pokemon Go, you can safely evolve your Eevees into their new bad ass forms.
